Precious Gemstones: The New Generation of Kerberos Attacks

The New Generation of Kerberos Attacks
> December 12, 2022 at 6:00 AM
> Executive Summary
>
> Unit 42 researchers show new detection methods that help improve detection of a new line of Kerberos attacks, which allow attackers to modify Kerberos tickets to maintain privileged access. The most well-known example of this is the Golden Ticket attack, which allows threat actors to forge a ticket to masquerade as a high-privileged user.
>
> These two newer attacks extend the Golden Ticket attack in that the forged tickets are not created from scratch, but instead based on modifying an existing ticket to include high-privileged access. We'll discuss the difference between these three types of attacks, to explain why the newer ones are harder to detect……..

Shufflecake - ..."spiritual successor" of tools such as Truecrypt and Veracrypt....

https://shufflecake.net/

Shufflecake

Introduction

Shufflecake is a tool for Linux that allows to create multiple hidden volumes on a storage device in such a way that it is very difficult, even under forensic inspection, to prove the existence of such volumes. ……… You can consider Shufflecake a "spiritual successor" of tools such as Truecrypt and Veracrypt, but vastly improved: it works natively on Linux, it supports any filesystem of choice, and can manage multiple nested volumes per device, so to make deniability of the existence of these partitions really plausible………..

The attached document describes in more detail a Hypertext project.

HyperText is a way to link and access information of various kinds as a web of nodes in which the user can browse at will. It provides a single user-interface to large classes of information (reports, notes, data-bases, computer documentation and on-line help). We propose a simple scheme incorporating servers already available at CERN.

GitHub - Quake 1 game port to Apple Watch

README.txt

Quake 1 port to Apple Watch Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPC2o262TfQ Some features: * uses Quake SW renderer + blitting to WatchKit surface (~60 fps, 640x480, larger res can run on lower framerate, tested up until 1024x768) * touch + gyro + digital crown controls * new AVFoundation audio backend (quake to Watchkit audio buffer copy logic), as Watchkit does not support CoreAudio * high pass audio filter to remove clicking on Watch speaker for some of the low frequency quake .wav samples * some smaller modifications and code updates to glue Quake 1 c code to Objective C and Watchkit made by Tomas MyOwnClone Vymazal (building on the shoulders of giants) based on id software open source release and open source ports to Mac and iOS see "qwatch WatchKit Extension/CREDITS.txt" for full details following GPLv2, full source of the port is relased here How to build: You cannot get the build on App Store, but you can build this yourself, having a Mac and Xcode this release does not contain any assets as they are copyrighted with non permissive licence (as opposed to the code), but you can use download_shareware_assets.sh to download and extract pak0.pak from zip of shareware release of Quake1. Than, you need to have Apple Watch Simulator or connected Apple Watch (via the iPhone) to your Mac and you can build the game yourself. For know issues, see "qwatch WatchKit Extension/ISSUES.txt". For a TODO list for a Watch port, see "qwatch WatchKit Extension/TODO.txt", but I consider most of the essential stuff to be done. Tested on WatchKit simulator for Apple Watch Series 5 and watchOS 8.6, Xcode 13.4.1 Tested on real device - Apple Watch Series 5, watchOS 8.6, iOS 15.6

The story of the first "computer bug"... is a pile of lies.

The story of the first "computer bug"... is a pile of lies.

A fun, endearing, delightful pile of lies.

Many of us have heard the story of "The First Computer Bug". It goes something like this…

On September 9, 1947 — at 3:45pm — Grace Hopper recorded the "first actual case of a bug being found" in her logbook. The bug was a moth found between the relay contacts of the Harvard Mark II computer.

The story is a fantastic one. A bug. An actual bug causing a computer to misbehave.....
